Well it's all happening and very quickly too.  With Spring around the corner (we hope and wish for) the new collections are arriving in store, Myrine & Me beautiful feminine in a soft muted pallette and I must say selling like hot cakes!  Fehu another favourite is proving to be popular with LBD ladies who are buying these fabulous dresses in time for holidays so not to miss out.  Liviana Conti contemporary and beautifully elegant with that Italian style we all love.

The sad news this season is Mais il est ou le Soleil is no more, all at LBD send our very best wishes for the future to the Soleil Team who were always so helpful adn friendly. Soleil was an important brand at LBD and loved by LBD customers so will be missed.

It’s hard to believe it but Spring will soon be up on us and we’ll have plenty of other items on sale to make space for all the lovely new ranges. Ruby + Ed Snow Leopard Scarf and Headband - only a few left!!!!

The last few weeks at LBD have been busy, busy, busy! The late night shopping in Stow-on-the-Wold was a fantastic night for locals and visitors alike. Mulled wine, mince pies and lots of trying on was had in store. The ‘man sofa’ was put to good use as ladies flocked to Stow for a spot of Christmas gift shopping as well as many of you buying some of our lovely dresses for the party season. Ruby & Ed slippers and accessories and DKNY pyjamas have been a massive hit- the perfect gifts when looking for that something special- much better than your high street brands we think!

We’ve put together a few of our last minute ideas for the extra special festive feel… food, gifts and frocks galore!

Of course, in our opinion no Christmas would be complete without a trip to Daylesford Organic. Their cheeses are to die for, perfect with a glass of port in the evening to top off a day of feasting and merriment. Who could resist a last minute stop of at Miette in Stow- delicious last minute chocolaty gifts and a selection of their yummy treats to nibble on over the coming days (we’ll worry about the diet in January).

Like us, if you haven’t even had time to give New Years Eve a thought yet, why not check out Liviana Conti’s amazing Italian designs- in its third season this brand is proving to be an absolute favourite with the ladies- gorgeous materials, intricate designs and unique yet classic styles. Mais il est ou le Soleil? is also proving to be a favourite. on the top trends this December. Whether it’s the office Christmas party, a family

gathering or simply something sparkly for the festive season you’re after here are our top tips!

1. Metallic’s

With the likes of Stella McCartney and D&G leading the way this Autumn/Winter, shine,

shimmer and sparkle is bang on trend. Here at LBD we constantly have or fingers on

the fashion pulse and naturally after London Fashion Week we trotted on down to

some of our favourite brands HQ’s to make sure we were in on the act. This December

we’ve gone all out, check out our ‘weekly window’ on our Facebook Page for the latest

glitz and glam. Liviana Conti in its third season is fast becoming an international name,

we particularly love the silver metallic party dress- a real head turner this little number

oozes Italian elegance with a festive, on season twist!

2. Print and Pattern

What a breath of fresh air this A/W ’11 trend was! Gloomy, winter browns, blacks and 

navy’s are nowhere to be season or at least not without a splash of something extra! 

The catwalks were inundated with quirky patterns and bright designs with the like of 

Mary Katrantzou leading the way. One of our favourite designers Fehu has flown of the 

rails due to its Versace style prints. Animal, jewel, you name it they’ve done it. For that 

festive glam look we’ve chosen their beautiful long-sleeve black and jewel print dress- 

a seriously sexy LBD with a high-fashion edge.

3. Knitwear

Here at LBD we just love our winter knitwear- jumpers, dresses, skirts you name it we’ve 

got it. A favourite with the likes of Kate Moss and Fearne Cotton

Burberry and Ralph Lauren to our Boutique. This week we are loving their

4. Boozy colours

They are the must have shades of the season- everywhere you look women are 

wearing plums and burgundies- the so called ‘boozy’ colours. Here at LBD we

So as mad as it may seem the festive season is well and truly here. Over the past few weeks mince pies have taken pride of place on supermarket shelves, Christmas lights have been erected and switched on by the odd Z list celeb across the country and yes, I have even heard Wham’s Last Christmas in the background whilst shopping for tights last week. Whilst many of us ladies have already written the list of who to buy for, started on the Christmas cards ready to send on the 1^st December and got the remnants of last years wrapping paper out of the under stairs cupboard, the last minute opposite sex is more likely to be considering how the top of the Premiership table is shaping up rather than what would my better half really love this Christmas.

Here at LBD we’ve been asking our Facebook and Twitter followers to let us know some of the worst gifts they’ve received from their men. I’d like to say we were shocked but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Electric knives, cleaning related equipment (how thoughtful they can be) and the trusty M&S 10 pack of multi-coloured socks were among the suggestions.

Now, not meaning to put a downer on our men entirely we’ve put our thinking caps on and come up with a little plan to help them out and  to avoid this almost inevitable annual disappointment. NEVER FEAR THE LBD CHRISTMAS WISH LIST IS HERE! In the blog post above and in store we have created a rather convenient little wish list. Our suggestion is to paste it into a document, print it off, peruse the website or pop in and have a look at all the lovely things in store, and simply write down a few of your favourite pieces for a hassle free, can’t go wrong gift buying experience for well, lets face it, clueless partners across the country.  (Whether you choose to subtly leave it lying on the coffee table or to give it to your husband with carefully explained instructions to avoid any disappointment is completely up to you!) For our regular ladies please do not hesitate to point them in our direction and we can advise them on what we know would suit your shape, style and taste.

It’s that time of year here in the Cotswold’s where the leaves have long started to turn and our September heat wave has well and truly passed. However, for all us locals and country lovers alike this in no way spells doom and gloom. Whilst, The Cheltenham Festival in March is of course the biggest sporting event on the Cotswold calendar the lesser known ‘Open’ taking place between 11^th and 13^th November is undoubtedly a highlight for many. As the Irish descend on Cheltenham and we dust of our Barbour’s and flat caps- it can mean only one thing. This year ‘The Open’ brings with it the usual mix of avid race goers and those of us that are simply out to enjoy The Cotswolds at its best. Here at LBD we have of course compiled a list of our favourite eateries, watering holes and perfect places to rest ones head after a long day at the course (and one or two drinks in town for good measure). A major highlight of the British Racing Calendar, with three days of racing magic, 80 trade stands in The Open Shopping Village, a great atmosphere in the grandstands, bars and restaurants and an historic race.

Our top tip for the weekend is to head slightly further afield for the true Cotswold ‘Open’ experience, making the most of the local pubs in all their true racing glory.

The Plough at Ford

No trip to the Cheltenham races would be complete without a visit to The Plough at Ford. As always the outdoor heated marquee will be up and ready for the arrival of trainers, jockeys and race goers making the most of the local ales, live music and the all round atmosphere of the weekend. A good choice for a bleary eyed Full English on the way back to the course the following day also!

The Swan, Cheltenham

A great year round pub for an after work drink, the pub quiz or live music at the weekend. Cheltenham can get pretty packed during the races but this spacious locals fave with heated court yard is perfect if you want a relaxing glass of wine tucked away in the corner or if plans for a slightly merrier night are what you have in mind you’ll be sure to find plenty of others with the same idea!
